Renske Martijnse-Hartikka is a senior advisor with 8 years of experience in the private sector, with a focus on mobility issues. Predating this, she worked for 5 years in the public sector on various European topics.
After completing her Master degree in Political Science and International Relations, she worked at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Dutch Embassy in Helsinki, Finland, always on matters related to European integration and policies. After re-locating to the Netherlands in 2008, she started working for DTV Consultants, again focusing on EU projects but now from a distinct urban mobility point of view.
In her professional career Renske has managed and participated in various European projects. Relevant project management experience comprises a.o. the Intelligent Energy Europe (STEER) projects VeloCittà (2014-2017, on improvement of existing bike sharing schemes) and MOBI (2013-2016, on more sustainable commuting through gamification). Renske is the coordinator. Also in the IEE STEER projects Bike-the-Track (2012-2015) and ENERQI (2010-2013, quality monitoring in public transport) she had a coordinating role. In addition, she was Work Package leader in the STARS project (2013-2016 on promotion of sustainable trips to and from school) and involved in CIVITAS MIMOSA supporting the Dutch city of Utrecht with all European implementation, evaluation and reporting requirements.
