Patrick van Egmond is an expert in Urban Mobility and Public transport issues. At LuxMobility Patrick is responsible for international acquisition and project management.
Among others, Patrick was involved in the ENERQI initiative were he coordinated a number of local projects that aimed at the implementation of real time quality monitoring in public transport, using dedicated travel survey software, and client panels. Customer quality monitoring schemes were set up in 6 European cities. For the European Bike-the-Track project, Patrick coordinated the realisation of cycle campaigns in several European cities, using modern technologies, GPS tracking and social media.
Through the FP7 project NODES (Design of public transport interchanges) he cooperates among other with the UITP (International Union of Public transport) and the Dutch National Railways (NS) to develop a set of tools for improved station design, construction and upgrading. He assisted the city of Utrecht with their impact and process evaluation studies of numerous local transport projects (Taxi certification, Urban Distribution Centre, introduction of the Mobility pass, etc.) financed in the frame of Utrecht’s CiViTAS MIMOSA project.
His earlier positions include member of the Presidency office at the public transport authority TISSEO in Toulouse (France) and a position as a transport economist for TIS: a consultancy and research firm in Lisbon (Portugal). In these capacities, Patrick worked on many different EU programmes (FEDER, INTERREG, FP5/6/7, STEER, SAVE) on projects such as CIVITAS MOBILIS, TRANSPLUS (public transport and land-use planning) and BESTRANS (Energy efficiency in public transport).
Patrick has a MSc degree from the Free University of Amsterdam in Economics, specialisation Business Economics and Transport Economics (2001).
