Joop Goos is a road safety expert who has many years of experience in giving strategic advice on policy, organisation, structure, interim- and change management to international organisations as well as companies. The focus is on the fields of mobility, transport, traffic and traffic safety. He has been involved in projects focused on road safety technology, in projects developing software for accident data collection and in citizens’ involvement in the field of road safety.
From 1990 to 2010 Joop was General Director of the Dutch Traffic Safety Association (Veilig Verkeer Nederland; VVN) and he has occupied a number of national executive posts and Board Memberships related to road safety.
At international level Joop was elected president of the worldwide road safety organisation La Prévention Routière Internationale PRI in the period 2007-2015. He also was member of various scientific committees and chairman of organising committees of World Congresses, regional conferences and international seminars under the patronage of National Governments and institutions like PRI, EU, United Nations, WHO, ECMT, International Transport Forum ITF, AROSO and GRSP.
